Spectacular, unique aircraft on temporary display at Aviodrome Aviation Museum

Aviodrome is hosting unique aircraft during two events in August. During the weekend of August 20 and 21, Aviodrome will host the Fly-in: Rescue Heroes and on Wednesday, August 31, the Fokker Four Foundation will celebrate its fortieth anniversary at Aviodrome.

Special aircraft are coming to Aviodrome especially for the Fly-in: Rescue Heroes. For example, during this weekend an ambulance helicopter of ANWB MAA and a police helicopter can be admired from up close. On Saturday, a Defense Department Chinook transport helicopter will be a guest, including a bambi bucket that can carry a capacity of 7,600 liters of water to extinguish forest fires. It is also possible to meet Fireman Sam and visitors can put out fires themselves under the supervision of the youth fire department. In addition, this weekend visitors can jump from the cargo hold of the Boeing 747 on an air cushion.

Coen Hoozemans, general manager of Aviodrome, says, "A special guest during this event is an AĆ©rospatiale Alouette III. This helicopter has a special history, as it has flown several missions and the bullet holes are still visible in the fuselage. In addition, for many years this helicopter was used for the royal family, especially Queen Beatrix at the time. During this weekend, visitors may view the helicopter from both outside and inside."

Fortieth anniversary of Fokker Four
The Fokker Four Foundation will celebrate its fortieth anniversary at Aviodrome on August 31. Hoozemans says, "I am proud that Fokker Four is forty years old and that it is coming to celebrate its anniversary with us, with many different historic aircraft coming to visit that day."

The Fokker Four Foundation is a volunteer organization whose goal is to keep a fleet of four historic Fokker S-11 'Instructor' aircraft in the air and to display them to the public. Hoozemans is proud of the long-standing partnership, "During the season, the S-11s fly out of our park almost every week. It remains special to be able to show visitors the flight movements of these old Fokker-built training aircraft. It makes us as an aviation museum unique in the Netherlands in that we not only exhibit historic aircraft, but also offer visitors the chance to see flying historic planes taxiing, taking off and landing up close. Visitors get very close to flight operations as a result." Fokker Four aircraft and their guests will be on display during the anniversary.

Rare aircraft
In addition to the Fokker S-11s, visitors during this event will also be able to see other special aircraft up close, such as a Fokker D.VII, one of the most famous fighters in the world from World War I. Also on display is a 1941 Ryan PT-22, which has been in the Netherlands for 25 years, a Douglas DC-3 and two P-51 Mustangs fighters from World War II.

Included with regular admission ticket
All activities are included in a regular entrance ticket to Aviodrome. Museum Card or Friends Lottery VIP CARD holders have free admission. The presence of the above mentioned aircraft during both events is subject to technical condition, weather and operational deployability.
