Aviodrome Aviation Museum opens its doors to visitors again

Aviodrome Aviation Museum in Lelystad opens its doors today. The museum has been closed for over a month.

The museum had to close on Dec. 19 in connection with the lockdown. The Cabinet decided yesterday to lift these measures. Visitors must still reserve a time slot, however, and a corona ticket is mandatory for anyone 13 and older. There is also a fixed walking route and mouth caps are mandatory in indoor areas. Catering facilities will be fully open.

ExpositionOnce inside, you can walk around all day and enjoy the exhibit on 100 years of civil aviation in the Netherlands, see a Boeing 747 inside or experience what Schiphol looked like in 1928.

"We notice a great need for relaxation," says general manager Coen Hoozemans. "And we can offer that. We have set it up according to the protocols of the Museum Association, allowing visitors to have a safe, responsible and, above all, fun and educational day."

VolunteersAnd it's not just visitors who have had to miss Aviodrome in recent weeks. "Our volunteers are also eager. These people are so inspired, have so much passion for airplanes and Dutch aviation. It is so nice that they can do again what they love most: share their experience and stories with our visitors."
