Aviodrome Aviation Museum again most child-friendly museum in Flevoland

Aviodrome Aviation Museum has been named Flevoland's most kid-friendly museum by Museumkids for the ninth time in a row. The museum received the title "Kidsproof museum 2021" during a special online award ceremony organized by the Museum Association.

A total of 205 museum inspectors visited Aviodrome last year. These children ages up to and including twelve rated the museums they visited using a questionnaire and grades. They gave the Aviation Museum an average rating of 8.6. This made the Aviodrome the most popular museum in the province.

In particular, the Boeing 747, playgrounds, 4D movie and simulator are popular with young visitors. "I was able to go in a real Boeing 747 for my first time and it was really cool," writes one of the inspectors. A "colleague" said, "I enjoyed sitting in an old plane, playing outside and making an airplane out of paper. And to learn about the history of space travel."

RatingFor general manager Serena van Kammen, this award is one of the greatest appreciations the museum can receive. "Children are an important target group for us and the fact that they themselves award us this prize makes it really valuable. The fact that we have been able to receive it nine times now shows that we are on the right track for these young visitors. However, we will continue to develop and hope to continue to come up with beautiful, new and interesting exhibitions and activities next year that will also appeal to children."
