Exhibition first intercontinental flight

100th anniversary

Aviodrome will open an exhibition from Saturday 23 November on the 100th anniversary of the first intercontinental flight, a historic event in aviation. The H-NACC, a Fokker F.VII aircraft, then flew from the Netherlands tot the Dutch East Indies, laying the foundation for later scheduled flights between continents. In the Schiphol building, visitors discover the special history of this pioneering flight.

This exhibition takes visitors into the story of this flight in words and images, showing how the crew overcame various challenges. Pilot Van der Hoop's book serves as a guide and is supported by the photographs and original object such as medals, cups and gifts the crew received after the flight. Fokker's H-NACC aircraft is also on display at Aviodrome.
