Aviodrome Apollo expositie

Apollo exhibition

21 July till 3 November 2024

Photo exhibition Apollo programme (1965-1969)

55 years after the moon landing.

A photo exhibition of the Apollo programme is on display at Aviodrome this summer. This series of photos were published by Omega in the late 1970s to commemorate the first moon landing in 1969. The photos were taken with the world-famous Hasselblad cameras. These cameras were specially made for use by astronauts in space, especially for an astronaut in a spacesuit.

This series is signed by the three Apollo XI astronauts: Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Edwin (Buzz) Aldrin.

These 12 Gemini flights were a preparation for the ambitious and successful Apollo project. The series of colour photographs are 45 years old but razor-sharp and good colour. The large prints of the time (40 x 50 cm) give a clear nostalgic look into the past.
