Aviodrome works on the Noorduyn
The Noorduyn Norseman is one of the projects Aviodrome is currently pulling out the tools for. Years ago, the plane arrived at Aviodrome Lelystad Airport and the finishing touches are now being put on it so that it can take to the air again. If you visit Aviodrome, chances are you will see the "aircraft docents" at work in the T2 Hangar.
Norduyn popular during WWII
The Norseman was designed around 1934 by Dutchman Bob Noorduyn. It became a sought-after aircraft, because during World War II the United States Army Air Forces ordered as many as 750 of them. At Aviodrome Lelystad Airport, a lot of work is being done on the restoration of this historic aircraft, so that, as a visitor, you too can see this piece of history in action. Among other things, the Noorduyn Norseman's wiring still needs to be repaired.
