The first (one-way) test flight to the Dutch East Indies was made in 1924. In 1919, the governor of the Dutch East Indies had offered a prize of 10,000 guilders for the pilot who would be the first to make a flight from Holland to the East Indies. The business community and the government raised this amount to 70,000 guilders. Because of this huge amount of money, companies and pilots were highly motivated to undertake this world tour. In 1924 the very first flight to the Dutch East Indies, with the Fokker F.VII H-NACC was made.
