Treasuries

Discover the treasures of aviation in the Schiphol 1928 building at Aviodrome

Aviodrome has many valuable objects that tell something about aviation and its history. Think of old books, technical manuals, porcelain, commemorative plates, business gifts, clothes of pilots and stewardesses and so on. Part of that collection has now been retrieved from the underground archives and is on display in the new "Treasure Rooms" in the historic Schiphol 1928 building.

Airmail: Old postcards

You can see historic aviation films and children's films in the building. The airmail room offers a treasure trove of all kinds of postal matters and information about famous postal flights, because mail used to go through the skies, too.

Each room a different treasure

In each room you will discover different aviation treasures. In one room you'll see the desk of Schiphol's first harbor master, and further on, old weather charts and photos of legendary aviators. The special Fokker & Plesman room tells you about Anthony Fokker and Albert Plesman, two important pioneers of aviation. Also, don't forget to visit the radio room. There, children learn the Morse code alphabet and can send their own Morse message.
