Aviodrome hosts world's largest Flight Simulator event

Aviodrome Aviation Museum is all about virtual flying on November 5 and 6. During the Flight Simulator weekend, the entire museum will be filled with flight simulators, recreated cockpits and the latest software to travel the world in any type of aircraft.

About 200 hobbyists and specialists from different clubs and companies from all over the world are coming to Aviodrome to show their creations at the museum. "A huge number that we are really very proud of," says Coen Hoozemans, general manager of Aviodrome. "For most participants, it is not only an opportunity to share their passion with the public, but also to meet other connoisseurs and enthusiasts. That makes it a very special weekend not only for our visitors, but also for the specialists."

One of the participants is the Virtual Air Traffic Flight Simulation Network. This organization demonstrates online flying around the globe with air traffic control. InHolland Flightsim Delft allows visitors to look through virtual reality at, among other things, the Flightsim cockpit for E-flight's first Dutch electric aircraft.

Real flying is approached as realistically as possible during this weekend with the variety of recreated cockpits and special simulation software. From self-built moving cockpits, where each part has a special story, to complete replicas of cockpits. Visitors can also step into some of these cockpits themselves and experience what it is like to fly virtually themselves.

In addition to the cockpits on display and the presence of the various sim clubs, several presentations will also take place. These include lectures on designing and building the homemade panels needed in flight simulators and what is involved in building a motion simulator.

To see and operate these flight simulators, you don't have to pay anything extra. With a regular ticket to Aviodrome you have access to all of them. Museum Card or Friends Lottery VIP CARD holders have free access.
