Aviodrome: Easter egg search at high altitude

Pilot a real airplane yourself and from there also search for Easter eggs! This is possible on Easter Monday (March 27 and 28) at Aviodrome Aviation Theme Park in Lelystad. During the 'Children's Flight Days/Children's Flying Days' young pilots from 8 to 16 years of age will handle the controls of a Cessna 172.

During the children's circular flights scheduled for Easter, participants search at high altitude for six Easter eggs "hidden" below on the ground or roofs of buildings. On each egg is a letter from which, after some puzzling, a word can be made. Whoever gives the right answer receives a real pilot's cap as a prize.

Experienced pilot

The flights in the Cessna 172 are conducted and guided by Special Air Services from Aviodrome. Of course, this takes place under the guidance of an experienced pilot. Prior to the flight, the young pilots receive theory instruction on the aircraft in which they will be flying.

In addition to the special Easter flights, Children's Flight Days/Children's Flying Days at Aviodrome will also take place later this year on April 24, May 4, May 15, June 12, June 26, July 10, July 31, August 3, August 14, August 17 and August 28. If there is much interest, more Children's Flight Days/Children's Flying Days will be scheduled.

Booking

Reservations for Children's Flight Days/Children's Flying Days are required and can be made at www.aviodrome.nl/rondvluchten. Fathers and mothers can also fly along. The rates can be found on the Aviodrome website. After the flight, pilots receive a certificate.

Adults

By the way, it is also possible for adults to fly themselves at Aviodrome in a Cessna 172, Fokker S-11 or Catalina PH-PBY. For more information: www.aviodrome.nl/rondvluchten.

Pilot training

Children under the age of eight are not yet allowed to fly themselves, but can still get their pilot's license at Aviodrome if they show that they have the qualities of a real pilot or stewardess. Their skills are tested during a flight test, signal test, knowledge test, eye test and a steering test.
