Day of the forgotten child

Thanks to the summer campaign of The Forgotten Child Foundation and eight Libéma theme parks, children from shelters can forget their worries for a very short time this summer. The first group outing is scheduled for Wednesday, August 5, at Aviodrome Aviation Theme Park in Lelystad: the most fun flying destination in the Netherlands. Ambassador Saar Koningsberger will be present. The other ambassadors of The Forgotten Child - Johnny de Mol, Angela Schijf and Babette van Veen - will also be participating soon.

Actress/presenter Saar Koningsberger first came into contact with the foundation during the closing party of the 'Week of the Forgotten Child 2013': "I was immediately incredibly impressed. So I felt very honored when I was asked to become an ambassador for the foundation. And there is still so much to do. The situation of over 33,000 children in the Netherlands is very poignant."

Safari park Beekse BergenAfter Aviodrome, AquaZoo Friesland, Safaripark Beekse Bergen, Speelland Beekse Bergen, ZooParc Overloon, Sportiom 's-Hertogenbosch, Dierenrijk and Klimrijk Brabant will also take their turn. Ambassadors Johnny de Mol, Angela Schijf, Babette van Veen and Saar Koningsberger will contribute in turn.

A fun summer outingDue to dwindling budgets, these "forgotten" children almost never get a fun summer outing. They are forced to spend the vacations in care and most children sit there until school starts again. With the summer campaign, The Forgotten Child Foundation in cooperation with Libéma wants to change that. You can donate viasummer.hetvergetenkind.nl.

Collaboration LibémaSince 2011, The Forgotten Child Foundation has enjoyed a particularly pleasant partnership with Libéma. The very first 'Day of the Forgotten Child' took place in Safaripark Beekse Bergen. Also in this summer campaign, Libéma is making an important (sponsor) contribution to The Forgotten Child Foundation.

Forgotten childrenThe Netherlands has over 33,000 children in shelters. Forgotten children who have been mistreated, abused, neglected, disowned or fled and grow up in austere shelters with minimal play opportunities and specialized supervision. This is not how a child's life should begin. The Forgotten Child Foundation is committed to creating a safe, pleasant living environment for these children within the shelter where they can unwind, play carefree and simply be children again.
