Aviodrome aviation theme park reopens April 28, 2012

Leisure concern Libéma, operator of Safaripark Beekse Bergen, Brabanthallen 's Hertogenbosch and Omnisport Apeldoorn, among others, is pleased to announce that it has just added aviation experience Aviodrome to its portfolio. After negotiations lasting several months, an agreement has just been reached. Aviodrome will reopen on April 28, 2012 in a revamped format.

To keep the experience contemporary and innovative, a number of elements have been added to the concept. One important change is the addition of a platform with outdoor terrace, which will be built next to the Boeing 747. This offers visitors a unique view of the air traffic that takes place daily at Lelystad Airport.
There will also be seven attraction zones in the Aviodrome. In the entrance zone there will be play facilities for children with interactive elements. A walk-through presentation with animatronics will playfully demonstrate how baggage handling is organized at an airport. A large number of aircraft will be publicly accessible. There will also be additional indoor and outdoor play opportunities. Several shows will feature spinning engines and taxiing historic aircraft. All attractions are free and admission fees will not be raised.

"Something as unique as Aviodrome should and would be preserved as far as we are concerned. Aviodrome is the only theme park in the Netherlands with history, heroism and heroes of Dutch aviation as its theme," said Dirk Lips, Managing Director of Libéma.

Alderman Jop Fackeldey is also delighted. "Lelystad Municipality is very pleased that the special Aviodrome can be preserved for the Netherlands - and for Lelystad in particular. This National Aviation Heritage will thus remain accessible to the Dutch and foreign public in an easily accessible location. Libéma is a party that has more than earned its spurs in the leisure market. We are convinced that they will make the renewed Aviodrome a success".

Trustee Bert van Apeldoorn confirms the acquisition of all assets of Aviodrome. "The unique aviation collection - which includes over 100 aircraft - can be described as cultural historical heritage. Through this acquisition, the collection stays together and does not have to be auctioned off. The proceeds of this sale can be distributed to all creditors ".

Pieter Verboom, CFO Schiphol Group: "We are pleased to have found a party in Libéma that will enable a good relaunch of Aviodrome. This plan is future-proof and solid. We are happy to contribute to it."

Albert Kraai, Aviodrome Branch Manager says: ''In fact, Aviodrome has always been a successful and a popular day out in terms of visitor numbers. With the experience and knowledge Libéma has in house, we are convinced we can also make Aviodrome financially healthy again."
