St. Airways plane lands at Aviodrome Aviation Museum again this year

SintAirways' plane will land at Aviodrome Aviation Museum again this year. During the last two weekends of November, children can help send gifts via the special airmail of the Saint Nicholas.

During SintAIRklaas, visitors can do all kinds of activities in the old Schiphol building on November 20, 21, 27 and 28. "For example, the packages can be sorted by color in the warehouse, the gifts can be scanned under the guidance of Douanepiet and the route for December 5 can be mapped out together with the Pietloten," says Lars Janssen, Coordinator of Events and Exhibitions at Aviodrome.

Pepper oilThis year SintAirways' plane is not flying on kerosene, but on peppermint oil. "Kerosene makes way too much noise on December 5 and so Sint has come up with a solution to this. Besides, peppermint oil is a more environmentally conscious alternative. Besides being packed with fun activities, SintAIRklaas is also educational," Janssen continued.

"For example, children learn what customs does by scanning packages and how pilots operate by plotting routes together with the Pietloten. In addition, this year we decided to open up the Fokker 100 to visitors, allowing them to take a look inside the plane," Janssen said.

Leisure education cooperationSeveral students from the Leisure & Entertainment and Leisure & Hospitality programs at the ROC of Flevoland are participating in SintAIRklaas. "Last year this was a huge success and we are happy that this year we can also offer the students a chance to experience projects in practice," said general manager Coen Hoozemans.
