The Fokker 100 is the largest commercial aircraft built by Fokker. The aircraft is intended for short distances and accommodates about 100 passengers. A total of 283 aircraft were built. The Fokker 100 made its first flight on November 30, 1986 from Schiphol Airport. The first airline to put the Fokker 100 into service (the so-called launching customer) was Swissair in February 1988. For years the Fokker 100 flew with KLM as Cityhopper.
