Indoor Flight Simulators

Rise to great heights in the flight simulator! Take a seat, grab the controls and experience the thrill of flight. After seeing all those impressive airplanes on the ground, you are now just like a real pilot in the sky!

Inside Aviation Museum Aviodrome you will find three static flight simulators. When you step inside, it is as if you have landed in the cockpit of sports plane Diamond DA40, jet fighter F104 Starfighter or Boeing 737. These simulators have also previously been used to train pilots in training. But at Aviodrome, it's your turn!

Diamond DA40 simulator

The Diamond DA40 simulator was donated to Aviodrome by the Chinese company Wright Brother Flight Technology (WBFT). This simulator provides a realistic flying experience in a single-engine sport aircraft. Visitors have the opportunity to take a true-to-life flight. They can experience a take-off, landing or flight under the guidance of a volunteer. It is also possible to fly in challenging conditions, such as fog, storm or rain.

*Note: Due to its advanced equipment, the Diamond DA40 simulator is exclusively open to guests 16 years and older.

Dry Sea Generic Simulator

The Dry Sea Generic Simulator was built in the late 1950s for KLM and served until 1972 to train DC-7 pilots. It carried the name "Dry Sea" here. This simulator was taken over by the NLR. Only the modified cockpit of this went into service in 1980 and was later rebuilt several times.

The 'Dry Sea' simulator was used in research on human factors, new cockpit instruments and approach procedures. It was therefore also called the Research Flight Simulator (RFS).

*Please note that the simulator is suitable for people with a minimum height of 1.60m.

The simulators are maintained and the flights supervised by volunteers. Unfortunately, it may occasionally happen that there are not enough skilled volunteers to keep the simulators functioning properly. As a result, a simulator may be closed unexpectedly. Of course, we make every effort to offer a flight to as many visitors as possible.
